Skin allergy testing

We know that you lead busy lives and that two trips to the salon within a week can seem a hassle. That is why we want to take the time to explain the importance of Skin Allergy Testing.

At PHASE 2 Premier Salon, the health and well-being of our clients is our priority, which is why our Skin Allergy Test Policy insists that all new colour clients who request ‘On the Scalp Colouring’ undergo a Skin allergy Test at least 48 hours before their appointment.

What if you’ve already had a colour service?

If you have not had a colour service at our salon in the last 6 months you will need an Allergy Test.

How does it work?

Pop into the salon at least 48 hours before your colour and a member of our team will complete an allergy test for you – it takes only a couple of minutes. A small amount of colour is applied behind your ear, this can be removed after 45 minutes. If you notice any abnormal reactions, let us know and we will advise you accordingly.

Why we carry out skin allergy tests?

Skin Allergy Tests help prevent any allergic reactions to colour application occurring.

Is it essential?

Your health and well-being is our utmost priority. If we applied colour to new clients without first performing an Allergy Test, it would compromise your safety. - We are not prepared to do that. Some salons will still perform a colour service without an allergy test in fear that the inconvenience will force clients elsewhere.

What you need to know?

With today’s carefully selected products it is extremely rare to have any kind of reaction to hair colour. It is completely normal to feel an itching or tingling sensation, even a little heat when colour is applied to your scalp - so try not to be too alarmed if this happens. This can last up to 24 hours after having your hair coloured. However, If you feel any major discomfort during the colouring process, please inform a member of the team immediately.

Can I have my hair coloured if I am under 16?

Hair colour is not advisable for use on anyone under the age of 16 years old.

Allergy/skin testing disclaimer

PHASE 2 Premier Salon strongly advise a allergy test before colouring your hair. However, If you are adamant that you would not like to undergo a test, we will ask you to sign a disclaimer as a last resort. This will state that you waive any responsibility for any reactions at PHASE 2 Premier Salon.

PLEASE NOTE: SUCH DISCLAIMERS CANNOT BE USED ON A REGULAR BASIS – The best practice is to come into the Salon and undertake your allergy test.
